Recently, The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported that the former offensive lineman is joining ESPN’s 'Monday Night Countdown' — the network’s 'Monday Night Football' pregame show.

Kelce hasn't spoke about the reports until today, when he all but confirmed the rumors while speaking to brother Travis on their New Heights podcast.

"Jason is heading to TV land," Travis said on the episode. "We all knew it was f***ing coming we just didn't know which direction you were going.

"That's right," Jason responded.

"Noting's been officially inked yet or announced yet. Obviously there's been a lot of reports out there about me going to ESPN. Time will take care of that.

"It's a tremendous honor to even be considered to potentially work there.

"That network was everything that Travis and I watched growing up. We talk about it all the time. We lived watching ESPN."

"It fuelled out love for sports," Travis added.

"We were glued to the TV each and every day so the fact that I may potentially-probably-will be working there is pretty darn cool," Jason continued.

"That's awesome, man" Travis added.

"That's some cool stuff to see full circle because we used to live and die by ESPN on that TV growing up. I'm happy as hell for you."

"I'm a talking head," said Jason.

"Meeting and talking to everyone at ESPN it became apparent that it was really the right fit.

"It's something I'm really looking forward to, this next phase.

"I know to some degree who I'm working with and think very, very highly of all of them.

"I'm excited to learn. I know a lot about football but not a lot about this world. So it's just another avenue to continue to expand my knowledge and create relationships - that's what this business is all about.

"Really excited."

The Athletic previously reported that Jason could line up a new deal with one of the major US television networks, with the deal potentially including Travis and the brothers' podcast.

Per that report, NBC, CBS and ESPN were all interested in acquiring Jason's talents for a major TV role.

Amazon Prime Video was also a contender to land Jason's services, with one potential deal involving Travis and the podcast.

New Heights fans will be relieved to know that Jason joining ESPN won't have any impact on the podcast.

The elder Kelce joining ESPN comes after the network added two other powerhouse names this offseason.

They have added Nick Saban to its college football coverage and Bill Belichick to its NFL coverage.

Both Saban and Belichick were lauded for their performances during the NFL Draft. The former Patriots head coach in particular went down a storm and will appear weekly on 'The Pat McAfee Show' - which is licensed by ESPN - on Mondays during the NFL season.

Kelce is expected to be joined on ESPN’s 'Monday Night Countdown' by host Scott Van Pelt and analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark.

Robert Griffin III is not expected back.

Kelce addressing the rumors came before Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney revealed Jason and Travis are planning to attended a game next season.

The Hollywood pair also revealed their 'masterplan' to get Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift at the Racecourse Ground next season.
