The Bengals might not be in the Super Bowl this year but their fans are showing no signs of slowing down.

It all started a few weeks ago, after the Bills secured the last spot in the AFC playoffs after the Bengals beat the Ravens. If the Ravens won instead, the Bills wold have been out. But since the Bengals’ win secured a spot for the Bills in the playoffs, fans started thanking Bengals QB Andy Dalton for breaking their dry spell.

They sent Dalton some of Buffalo’s famous wings and donated to nearly $350,000 to his foundation in $17 increments in honor of their 17 year playoff drought.

“I think I’m the hottest guy in Buffalo right now,” Dalton told a press gaggle.

So now that the Bengals are out too, fans have started paying it forward. They’re donating to Jaguars QB Blake Bortles’ foundation BB5 for knocking their rival Steelers out of the playoffs.

“Fans are at the core of the football experience and it’s truly exciting and rewarding when they band together, regardless of the team they cheer for, to make a positive impact in the lives of others,” Bortles said. “I greatly appreciate the support displayed by Bengals fans and they should know their support will make a difference.”

Established in 2016, the Blake Bortles Foundation helps children and adults with developmental disabilities and first responders in the Jacksonville and Oviedo areas. So far, Bengals fans have raised about $5,000 – but the Super Bowl is still a few weeks away.
