The College Football Playoff selection committee announced six new members on Wednesday.

The new members are Hall of Fame player Ronnie Lott, Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin, Oklahoma athletics director Joe Castiglione, Georgia Tech athletics director Todd Stansbury, former Clemson and Arkansas coach Ken Hatfield and former sports columnist Paola Boivin. The six new members will begin three-year terms this spring.

"These are high integrity people who know and love college football," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said. "Each one of them has built a distinguished career based on diligence and doing things the right way. We're delighted that they will be joining the committee."

It was not immediately clear who the six new appointees would replace on the committee. The Athletic is reporting that Oregon AD Rob Mullens, who is already on the committee, will replace Kirby Hocutt as selection committee chairman in 2018.

Lott, 58, was an All-American defensive back at USC in 1980 before spending 14 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers. He was named the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000. He is now a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area.

Stricklin, 47, was named AD at Florida in 2016 after six years at Mississippi State. He also worked in the Auburn athletic department from 1993-98.

Castiglione, 60, has been AD at Oklahoma since 1998, and is regarded among the top administrators in the country. He also served as AD at Missouri in the mid-1990s.

Hatfield, 74, was head coach at Air Force (1979-83), Arkansas (1984-89), Clemson (1990-93) and Rice (1994-2005). He won 168 games and was AFCA national coach of the year in 1983.

Stansbury, a former Georgia Tech linebacker, was named AD at his alma mater in 2016. He has also worked as AD at Central Florida and Oregon State.

Boivin, an Illinois graduate, worked as a columnist at the Los Angeles Daily News and Arizona Republic for more than 20 years. She now works in the journalism department at Arizona State.
