Here are Eddie Brown’s grades for the AFC West team’s performance during the 2018 NFL Draft.

Here are my grades for each team’s performance during the 2018 NFL Draft:

AFC WEST

L.A. Chargers

Grade: B+

The lowdown: James was a steal and I wouldn’t be surprised if Shimonek makes the team over Geno Smith.

Denver

Grade: A

The lowdown: Needed to make the offensive line more of a priority, but it’s hard to argue against this haul.

Kansas City

Grade: B-

The lowdown: They did a fine job of addressing the holes on their defense considering the lack of a first round pick.

Oakland

Grade: C+

The lowdown: There isn’t a more boom-bust group in this class. Hurst could be a Danny Ocean-like theft.

Grade: B-

The lowdown: There’s a lot to like here, but the Bills will ultimately be judged on whether Allen pans out.

Grade: B

The lowdown: They didn’t land a quarterback-of-the-future, but they added a lot of protection for their current future hall of famer signal caller, including offensive tackle Trent Brown in a trade with the 49ers.

N.Y. Jets

Grade: B

The lowdown: They landed Darnold, but didn’t address the offensive line or wide receiver.

The lowdown: The addition of offensive Tackle Cordy Glenn is included in the grade. The exceptional value of getting Hubbard and Jefferson in the third round almost pushed this to an “A.”

Cleveland

Grade: B

The lowdown: Picking Mayfield is better than Allen, but I’m still not sure how they passed on Bradley Chubb for Ward.

Pittsburgh

Grade: C

The lowdown: Edmunds should be a fine professional, but most analysts had him graded as a third-round prospect.

AFC SOUTH

Houston

Grade: B-

The lowdown: Reid and Rankin were exceptional picks in the third round. Both should have gone significantly higher. Picking Akins over other tight ends like Ian Thomas and Troy Fumagalli was a missed opportunity.

Indianapolis

Grade: A-

The lowdown: GM Chris Ballard hauled in three second-round picks from the Jets to move down just three slots and still landed Nelson, one of the top two players in this draft.

Jacksonville

The lowdown: The rich get richer on defense.

Tennessee

Grade: B

The lowdown: Landry is an obvious steal and Falk was a sneaky good selection with a potentially injury-prone Marcus Mariota under center.

NFC WEST

Arizona

Grade: B

The lowdown: They landed their quarterback-of-the-future, added help on offense, but forgot to address their issues in the secondary.

The lowdown: I love the Penny and Griffin picks, but they waited too long to address the offensive line.

San Francisco

The lowdown: McGlinchey was a “need” pick when Minkah Fitzpatrick, Tremaine Edmunds and Derwin James were still on the board. A lot of upside in the later rounds, but we’ll have to wait and see.

NFC EAST

Dallas

Grade: A-

The lowdown: The Cowboys maxed out value with almost every pick. They needed to replace Dez Bryant and they landed two of my favorite receivers in this draft class (Gallup and Wilson).

N.Y. Giants

Grade: B+

The lowdown: The Barkley and Hernandez picks could transform this offense and extend Eli Manning’s career.

Philadelphia

Grade: C

The lowdown: Not that the champs have many holes to fill on their roster.

Washington

Grade: B

The lowdown: It wasn’t a perfect draft, but they accomplished their two main priorities: upgrade their run defense and running back position.

The lowdown: Johnson should step in right away and start at running back. Both Ragnow and Crosby should help solidify the offensive line.

Green Bay

Grade: A

The lowdown: The first five picks should all contribute early, but they really needed a guard.

New Orleans

Grade: D+

The lowdown: Alvin Kamara was acquired last April for a second-round pick this year, and after one year that seems like a great move, but I don’t believe Davenport was worth next year’s first-rounder.

Tampa Bay
