Football's king of fashion! As Bengals QB Joe Burrow is knocked out of Super Bowl contention, FEMAIL reviews his VERY stylish pre-game looks from the season - as fans mourn the loss of his trendy tunnel outfits

  • Bengals QB Burrow was named one of The New York Times' most stylist people
  • After his team was knocked out, fans are mourning the loss of his game day 'fits
  • FEMAIL takes a look back at Burrow's best break-the-internet sartorial choices

After the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, booking a spot in this month's Super Bowl, NFL fans weren't just mourning the loss of a trophy.

Some felt they had been 'robbed' of seeing Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who is now not only known for his athletic ability but his sartorial choices, serve another fierce look on game day.

'Will miss Joe Burrow's game day outfits. Until next year,' one person wrote on Sunday night after the Bengals lost.

'We are robbed off of Burrow's super bowl outfit man im (sic) so upset,' another said.

A third user added: 'What will women across America do now that they can't post Joe Burrow's pregame outfit on their Instagram stories?'

It's that last tweet that really summed up how this FEMAIL writer felt when the Bengals watched their Super Bowl dreams slip away in those nail-biting last minutes.

It's no secret that Burrow is one of the best-dressed men in the NFL. In fact he was named one of The New York Times' 93 Most Stylist 'People' Of 2022

Burrow wears both high-end and more affordable pieces from a $5,200 Louis Vuitton travel bag and a $2,700 The North Face X Gucci puffer jacket to a $180 Jordan sweatsuit and a $58 Sorry In Advance T-shirt.

Here FEMAIL rounds up his best break-the-internet looks.

Joe Burrow's power plays with a statement suit

Full disclosure, I don't know much about the NFL.

The most I've watched of the sport happened this weekend when I tuned into the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the San Francisco 49ers and the Chiefs besting the Bengals.

But what I can appreciate is fashion. Part of the fun of the NBA, which I watch almost religiously, are the tunnel fits. Whatever you think of him, you can't deny James Harden makes a statement when it comes to his sartorial choices.

Never to shy away he rocked this lime green suit paired with a bright-orange leather travel bag, and to bring it all together he went with Nike X Off-White Dunk Low sneakers

How I learned about Burrow was through his showstopping outfit at the 2022 Super Bowl where he strut into the stadium in a black and white tiger-striped suit paired with a black hat and Nike sneakers.

I'm not saying Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts can't compete. I mean, Hurts' AFC Championship look was honestly incredible, you can see it below.

But Burrow was my gateway into NFL game day outfits.

You can never go wrong with a well-tailored suit, and Burrow has pretty much worn them all from a classic two-piece with a subtle checked pattern to full-blown floral.

They initially retailed for $170 from Nike, but are now selling for $2,100 on Farfetch

The following year he wore a divisive two-piece, which some compared to their grandmother's couch cushions.

But honestly I think he pulled it off as he strode in with confidence, no hesitation.

Glimpses of his fashion potential were also seen before he joined the NFL when he showed up in an understated dark suit while playing for LSU in 2019, effortlessly paired with some aviators for that too-cool-for-school look.

A nod to Y2K: $2,600 Cartier sunglasses

An often-worn accessory of Burrow's are sunglasses, but the ones that got the fashion fans' tongues wagging were the rose-colored ones he wore during a post-game conference on January 15 last year.

His teammate Ja'Marr Chase later revealed they were Cartier.

It's a brand the Bengals quarterback's seen wearing a lot on game day. He also donned a similar pair of rimless sunglasses days later that same year, posting an Instagram photo of himself wearing them with the caption, 'Cartier glasses I won't even peek at you,' a reference to Lil Baby and Drake's 2018 hit Yes Indeed.

These ones are now selling on luxury retailer Farfetch for more than $2,600.

He paired the stylish eyewear with a Live 2 Love Sherpa jacket that retails for $200 and was designed by high school friend Micah Saltzman.

'[Burrow] texted my brother and was like, "Yo, don't tell Micah, but this jacket's sick [and] I'm gonna wear it to the AFC game," and so when I saw that I was like "Oh, my God,"' Saltzman told 10 WBNS at the time.

Joseph and his amazing technicolor outfits

He's a man whose not afraid of color, and he proved that at the most recent AFC Championship game where the Bengals faced off against the Chiefs.

In a cocky move, Joe wore a Sorry In Advance T-shirt that costs $58 and his $5,200 Louis Vuitton Keepall Bandoulière 55 travel bag.

Unfortunately his team lost and didn't advance to the Super Bowl, where the Chiefs will now take on the Eagles.

Frosting himself: The Bengals quarterback appreciates custom jewelry

Burrow reportedly signed a four-year, $36.1 million rookie contract back in 2020 with the Bengals when he was the No.1 overall pick.

So it's no surprise he can afford real diamonds when it comes to his custom jewelry.

This necklace with a bedazzled 9, his jersey number, was valued up to $30,000 by ESPN

He was once asked whether the stones in his JB9 necklace, designed by Leo Frost, were legit.

'They're definitely real. I make too much money to have fake ones,' Burrow responded.

Though it's unknown how much the custom piece cost, another necklace with a bedazzled 9, his jersey number, was valued up to $30,000 by ESPN.

Picked up by Burrow in 2020, the chain features an 18-carat white gold diamond Cuban link with an 18-carat white gold pendant.
