Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon said running back Derrick Henry is engaging in his usual offseason workout regimen to be prepared to carry the load for another NFL season, and the former Alabama All-American will be carrying that load for the Titans.
Earlier this month, a report said Tennessee had been shopping Henry this offseason.

While the report cited anonymous general managers as its source, the convergence of a new general manager in Tennessee, the impending final season of Henry’s contract and the approach of his 30th birthday combined to give the idea circumstantial support.
On Tuesday while attending the NFL’s annual meeting, Carthon said the Titans were not seeking to trade the franchise’s career touchdowns leader.
“It was an erroneous report that came out,” Carthon said. “I’ve spoken to Todd (France), Derrick’s representative, and we’re in a good place. Nothing new to report from there.
“I know Derrick trains like crazy in the location where he trains. I know the location; I won’t put it out there. But Derrick is going to be Derrick. He’s going to take his time away and do what he has to do to make sure that he’s ready to go. I feel we’re in a good place.”
Henry is entering the final season of a four-year, $50 million contract extension.

In his 60 games since the start of the 2019 season, Henry has produced 6,590 yards and 59 touchdowns on 1,370 rushing attempts. Only one other player in the NFL’s AFC/NFC era can meet those three numbers over a 60-game span — Terrell Davis for the Denver Broncos almost 30 years ago.
In 2022, Henry ran for 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns on a league-leading 349 carries. He finished second to former Alabama standout Josh Jacobs for the NFL rushing title. Jacobs ran for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns on 340 carries for the Las Vegas Raiders to win the league’s Jim Brown Award.
