3 hurt in 2 shootings at Massachusetts beach on Memorial Day weekend

REVERE, Mass. (WLNE) — Three people were hurt in two shootings at Revere Beach on Sunday night.
Massachusetts State Police said Monday that a 17-year-old girl was shot shortly after 7 p.m. on Centennial Avenue, about two blocks from the beach.
Investigators found the shooting happened during a large fight, where shots were fired at a group of people.
The girl was brought to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to her lower body, and is expected to be OK.
Another shooting was reported just after 8 p.m. on Revere Beach Boulevard near the bathhouse.
A 51-year-old woman was shot in her legs. She was rushed to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A 17-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet and declined medical attention at the scene.
Police said several juveniles were detained. One was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm, but it’s unknown if he was involved in either of the shootings.
Investigators said it doesn’t appear that the two shootings were related.
Whether the victims were targeted remains under investigation.
