Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith was in line to get paid. After all, he was the next in line to get a contract, and there was no panic after seeing his teammates getting new deals. The Eagles picked up Smith’s fifth-year option and agreed on a three-year, $75 million contract, $51 of which will be guaranteed.
Smith has been an important part of the offense, catching 240 passes for 3,178 yards and 19 touchdowns in his first three seasons, putting him in the top 10 in many receiving categories since he entered the league. The Eagles have shelled out a lot of money to their young players to remain with the team for the foreseeable future. Smith joins left guard Landon Dickerson and left tackle Jordan Mailata as extension recipients.
