St John's overcame a tricky start to win the game by a commanding 83-53 margin in Providence, Rhode Island.

Simeon Wilcher hit a three-pointer to give them a 28-22 lead with just under five minutes remaining in the first half.

They're expected to feature heavily on television coverage during their run.

The No. 2 seed won their opening round, powered by a 50-point second half.

The second round will bring the next chapter of coach Rick Pitino's rivalry with John Calipari.

“I don’t go against coaches; we go against teams," Pitino said.
