Russell Wilson and the New York Giants are in agreement on a one-year deal that adds the only quarterback to win a Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium to the roster, an individual with knowledge of the situation told NorthJersey.com and The Record on Tuesday night.

Wilson, 36, can earn up to $21 million with incentives, but the contract with the Giants is worth $10.5 guaranteed, sources confirmed. The Giants should still be considered strong suitors for a quarterback with their first-round pick in next month's NFL Draft, and they currently hold the No. 3 overall selection.

The Wilson agreement comes days after the Giants and Jameis Winston came to terms on a two-year deal worth $8 million, sources said. The addition of Wilson and Winston to a QB room that also includes Tommy DeVito should take the Giants out of the mix for Aaron Rodgers.

The 36-year-old self-professed "Mr. Unlimited" would seem to be the next man up, given the speculation for years that he and his wife, Ciara, and their family would love to relocate to the Big Apple. From "Go Hawks!" to "Broncos Country, let's ride!" and whatever he used with the Steelers, it might be time for Wilson to come up with another catch phrase for Big Blue.

Only two quarterbacks have won a playoff game inside MetLife Stadium. The first is the best to ever play for the Giants (Eli Manning), the other won Super Bowl XLVIII there and is in line to now call the Meadowlands his home (Wilson).

Wilson met with the Giants last season before agreeing to sign with the Steelers. That was deemed more of a “conversation,” but the intentions for both sides are believed to be more in-depth.

The nine-time Pro Bowler changed the narrative following his exit from Denver with a solid two months of play, including an upset of the Ravens. But Wilson's play tailed off down the stretch, leading to questions as to whether the Steelers would re-up with the future Hall of Famer.

For the Steelers, Wilson completed 63.7 percent of his passes with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Giants may end up taking a non-QB at No. 3, but sources with knowledge of their thinking have told NorthJersey.com and The Record say Sanders "absolutely" is in play, and the team feels doubling up at QB was necessary with the way things have broken down in the room the last two years. The Giants played three quarterbacks during the 2023 season, including an undrafted rookie at the time in DeVito, and four different quarterbacks in 2024.

This gives them options. The entire QB draft situation for the Giants will come down to Daboll. All along, the belief has been that the private workouts and the "30" visits would be significant, and now they take on even more importance.

Team brass and scouts will stack the position on the board, but Daboll input will be huge.
