And the 36-year-old has apparently agreed a deal for 2025, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Wilson will play for the New York Giants after coming to terms on a one-year contract worth up to $21 million.

The contract earns him a guaranteed $10.5 million.

He is the second quarterback the Giants have signed in recent days.

New York also agreed a two-year deal with Jameis Winston worth $8 million.

The move for Wilson all but rules out the possibility of Aaron Rodgers staying in the Big Apple.

Rodgers, 41, was cut loose by the New York Jets after two disastrous seasons.

He had been in talks over a switch to the Giants.

The Giants also hold the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin next month.

The draft class includes sought after quarterbacks such as Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

But an early pick for a quarterback now seems unlikely for the Giants.

Rodgers could yet end up in Wilson's former place at the Steelers.

He spent six hours at their team facility last week and had meetings with key members of staff.

In the wake of the news, Wilson posted on social media and sent an eight-word message.

"Relentless Confidence. Don’t ever stop believing in you!" he wrote on X.
