On Friday morning, the Philadelphia Eagles announced several changes to their coaching staff before the 2025 NFL season. Those moves include two promotions for internal candidates and five new hires being added to Nick Sirianni’s staff in Philadelphia. The Eagles are in full preparation mode for the NFL Draft between April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Philadelphia Sports Network has all your draft coverage needs covered! Every successful business organization likes to reward productive workers with chances to tackle new challenges. The Eagles are no different and provided a pair of team employees with more opportunities next season. Kevin Patullo was announced as the offensive coordinator on Feb. 19, so his inclusion in this section is not shocking. The 16-year NFL coaching veteran enters his fifth season in Philadelphia in his highest profile role to date as Patullo replaces the outgoing Kellen Moore.

Tyler Yelk was promoted to the position of defensive assistant for the Eagles. Yelk was the head of quality control last season and the assistant to the head coach during 2023. As head of quality control in 2024, Yelk aided the Eagles in an NFL-record-tying 18-win season, culminating in victory at Super Bowl LIX.

A Handful of Eagles New Hires

Of course, every organization needs brand-new minds and fresh ideas to push further for greatness. Nick Sirianni has determined five individuals from around the NFL landscape who will be joining Philadelphia this offseason as the Eagles look to return back to the NFL’s biggest stage.

Parks Frazier was named the Passing Game Coordinator for the 2025 season. He arrives from the warm Miami sunshine, where he served as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins in 2024. The 33-year-old NFL coach started his career with the Indianapolis Colts as an assistant to the head coach, Frank Reich. Frazier was the offensive quality control in 2020 when Nick Sirianni was the team’s offensive coordinator.

After three decades in the college coaching ranks, Scot Loeffler will be the new Quarterbacks Coach for Philadelphia, including the last five seasons as head coach at Bowling Green. Last season, Loeffler’s starting quarterback, Connor Bazelak, was recognized with All-MAC honors after the second-best season by a QB in Bowling Green history. Bazelak finished the season completing two-thirds of his passes with a 67% success rate through the air last season.

Stoutland University gets a new professor next season. Greg Austin is the newest Assistant Offensive Line Coach after spending two seasons with the AFC’s Jacksonville Jaguars as an offensive quality control coach in 2023 and an assistant offensive line coach last season. It is a homecoming for Austin, who served as an Eagles assistant offensive line coach between 2013-15 when LeSean McCoy led the NFL with 1,607 rushing yards.

Montgomery VanGorder is the new recruit from the University of Georgia to join Philadelphia. He has been installed as an Offensive Quality Control coach. VanGorder held the same position with Georgia for the last six seasons and aided one of the NCAA’s most dominant programs in college football history. The Bulldogs’ offense ranked 12th in the country last season in passing yards per game at 281 yards, as Georgia claimed its second SEC Title in three seasons.

Cole Peterson joins the staff as the Assistant to the Head Coach next season. He arrives from UAB, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as the executive director of day-to-day operations under Head Coach Trent Dilfer. Petersen started his career with Youngstown State in 2021 as the Director of Football Operations & Player Personnel Director. At 22, he was the youngest person in college football history trusted to run the entire team’s football operations.
