Mock drafts from 13 prominent analysts present a variety of predictions for Chicago’s crucial first-round selection. Bucky Brooks from NFL.com suggests taking North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton, whose physical style could complement the Bears’ needs in the offensive backfield. He said, “Ben Johnson’s immense success with a two-back rotation could prompt Chicago to expend its top pick on a physical runner.”

Matt Miller of ESPN also has the Bears selecting a running back, projecting Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty led the FBS with 2,750 all-purpose yards and is highlighted for his versatility in both running and passing scenarios. “He could team with D’Andre Swift to give the Bears a fearsome run game,” Miller noted.

Additionally, Josh Edwards from CBS sees Jeanty as a critical asset, stating that he is a positive force in both the run and pass games, which would alleviate pressure on second-year quarterback Caleb Williams. “His presence can recalibrate the attack, creating big gains by slipping past would-be tacklers,” Edwards commented.
