CBS Sports are not expected to replace JJ Watt on 'The NFL Today'.
The NFL Today is CBS' flagship pregame show, and Watt has featured as a presenter for two years, debuting in 2023.
He has now been promoted, though, as he moves into a gameday commentary role, replacing the retiring veteran Gary Danielson.
It has now been revealed that CBS are not planning to replace Watt on the show.
Sources hint producers are planning to move Nate Burleson further into the spotlight.
Burleson, a former wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns, moved into broadcast after retiring from the NFL in 2014.

He initially worked as an analyst for NFL Network, joining CBS in 2021. He also dabbles in childrens' tv, presenting Nickelodeon's weekly highlights show 'NFL SlimeTime' and the 2023 Kid's Choice Awards.
It is believed Watt's busy schedule had prevented him from working in commentary sooner, but he has now found the time to enter the booth.
This is in spite of the fact that he is still a minority shareholder of Burnley FC while working as an investor and philanthropist.
Watt is expected to be the only departure from the show this season, with Burleson and Matt Ryan expected to remain alongside James Brown and Bill Cowher.

Watt's move into the commentary booth is expected to put pressure on Tony Romo, who is entering the sixth year of his ten year contract, worth an eye-watering $180million.
His is reported to be the largest contract in sports broadcasting history.
Watt has been tipped to usurp Romo, though, as CBS executives are reportedly tiring of his performances.
He was criticized for his AFC Championship Game commentary, which saw fans take to social media to beg for his replacement.
Houston Texans Watt legend retired from the NFL in 2022, but he has constantly been linked with a potential return to the league.
But Watt's latest gig likely ends all that speculation.
Watt received rave reviews when he joined Ian Eagle and Burleson to call a Christmas Day game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs.
Fans said about Watt's work at the time, "JJ crushed it."
"You were excellent, JJ."
"Outstanding performance."
