The Dallas Mavericks are fighting hard in the Western Conference right now. Their position as the ninth seed in the West has put a target on their backs. The teams below them, like the Kings and Suns, are also trying their best to end with a spot in the Play-In Tournament. So the Mavs will need stars like Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson to step up big time for them.

But with the injuries that have plagued the Mavs since the trade deadline, will they be able to do that? Well, that’s exactly what we’ll try to figure out as we dive into their injury report.

Dallas Mavericks Injury Report – Will Anthony Davis play tonight against the LA Clippers?

The Dallas Mavericks will play the second leg of their back-to-back against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. But ahead of that game, we saw something concerning. Anthony Davis appeared on the Mavs’ injury report, listed as QUESTIONABLE with a left adductor strain.

Now, the AD fans among you will remember that this was the same injury that’s plagued him intermittently, even when he was at the Lakers. And it’s back again. So AD’s appearance in the second leg against the Clippers is also QUESTIONABLE. Whether AD plays or not will be something Jason Kidd will have to consider come game time.

There are several others on the Dallas Mavericks’ injury report apart from Anthony Davis, though. Most worryingly, Klay Thompson, who only played 13 minutes against the Clippers, is QUESTIONABLE to appear in the rematch due to an illness. Similarly, after exiting the game with an apparent leg injury, Jaden Hardy’s appearance is also QUESTIONABLE. Their statuses are being monitored from day to day.

Moreover, players like Dante Exum Olivier-Maxence Prosper, and Kyrie Irving are OUT for the season for the Dallas Mavericks after suffering injuries that required surgery to fix. Even if the Mavericks have a deep playoff run, it’s unlikely that we’ll see these players back in action. Aside from them, Dereck Lively II is also probably not making an appearance in the regular season as he recovers from the stress fracture in his right ankle.

However, someone we can expect to see on the court against the Clippers is Caleb Martin, who’s listed as PROBABLE on the Mavs’ injury report with a right hip strain. He played 18 minutes in the last game against the Clippers.

Finally, G League player Kessler Edwards rounds out the Mavs’ injury report. They have G-League duties to fulfill owing to his two-way contract. But that’s it for the Mavs’ injured personnel. Compared to some of the injury reports from earlier in the season, this one seems mild at best.

So, let’s try and see who Jason Kidd will pick as he gears up to face the Los Angeles Clippers once again.

Dallas Mavericks vs LA Clippers – predicted starting lineup and depth chart

After a lopsided 114-91 loss the first time out, expect Jason Kidd to make some changes to the lineup in this coming game. However, considering the injuries to the Dallas Mavericks’ stars, there’s not much Kidd can change, broad strokes-wise at least. So it will be interesting to see who he goes with. That said, here’s who we think he’ll play against the Clippers:

With a lineup depleted of star power, the Mavs are going to struggle against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. And with a playoff spot within arm’s reach for the Clippers, it’s not like they’re going to take it easy on the Mavs. So Mavs fans, you better pray for a miracle against the Clippers so you can keep the hopes for a postseason alive.
