Blackjack: Vote for the Baseball Player of the Week from 21 candidates for April 7-13

The hits have it. Medway's Aidan Tkowski was voted the spring's first Daily News Baseball Player of the Week for action between March 28 and April 6 after collecting nine hits and a save over three games. He received 33.18 percent of the more than 60,000 votes.

That just barely beat out Algonquin's Preston Cote (32.91 percent), that threw a no-hitter, and Nipmuc's Sean Burchard (30.6 percent).

Now we'll turn our attention to this week and games played between April 7 and 13. Here are the nominees:

Max Boehm, Wellesley

He threw a two-hit shutout in a win over Newton North on Thursday. Boehm was perfect entering the seventh and added three hits at the plate for the Raiders.

Max Bonavire, Natick

He struck out 10 over 5 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and two walks in a win over Newton North on Wednesday.

Ethan Chan, Algonquin

He lined a one-out single to center field to score Jake O'Connell in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Titans a walk-off win over Leominster on Wednesday. Chan scored two runs and had a single and an RBI against Lincoln-Sudbury on Tuesday.

Luke Charron, Blackstone Valley Tech

He punched out 11 Assabet Valley batters over five one-hit innings in a win Tuesday.

Ben Clarkin, Lincoln-Sudbury

He delivered a walk-off double for the Warriors against Boston Latin on Wednesday. Clarkin finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Nate DeBoer, Keefe Tech

He put down three hits and three RBIs for the Broncos in a win over Assabet Valley on Wednesday.

John Farrell, Medway

He struck out nine and allowed just two hits in a five-inning shutout, as the Mustangs beat Norton on Tuesday. Farrell also had two RBIs. 

Josh Giancola, Nipmuc

He struck out 11 over a five-inning shutout and allowed just three hits in a win over Douglas on Wednesday. Giancola also tripled and scored three runs for Nipmuc.

Ethan Ikeda, Blackstone Valley Tech

He tripled and drove in three runs on a 2-for-3 day in a win over Assabet on Tuesday.

Lincoln Loftus, Wellesley

He struck out 12 and allowed just three hits and a walk, as he shut out Wayland on Friday.

Ben Maiorano, Holliston

He  was 3-for-4 and scored three runs with four stolen bases for the Panthers against Dedham on Thursday.

Cole McGovern, Gavin Metcalf & Dylan Muccini, Nipmuc

They combined for a no-hitter in the Warriors' over Blackstone-Millville Regional on Thursday. Muccini threw three innings, while McGovern and Metcalf had two innings each. They struck out eight and walked just two.

Chase Murphy, Wellesley

He had three RBIs in a win over Wayland on Friday and had two more against Newton North on Thursday.

Trevor Petty, AMSA

He was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a win over Keefe Tech on Friday.

Arav Prajapati, Holliston

He doubled and had two RBIs in a win over Ashland on Wednesday. Prajapati also threw four innings with three strikeouts and allowed just one earned run with three strikeouts for the Panthers

Evan Pupka, Blackstone Valley Tech

He threw a five-inning no-hitter in a win over AMSA on Thursday. Pupka also had two singles and three RBIs for the Beavers.

Michael Roche, Tri-County

He was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Cougars in a 12-5 win over Assabet Valley on Thursday.

Dylan Ruff, Hopkinton

He had two hits and scored a run and threw four innings of relief to earn the win in a victory over Westwood in nine innings Friday. Ruff struck out five and allowed just three hits and one earned run.

Jack Sullivan, Franklin

He went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, as the Panthers bested Bridgewater-Raynham on Friday.

Michael Sullivan, Hopkinton

He was 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs, including a walk off two-run single to deliver the Hillers a win over Dedham on Wednesday.

Will Webster, Wellesley

He had four hits in a win over Wellesley on Friday.
