GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The football mecca will host one of the biggest NFL events next week.
Not since the days of Vince Lombardi patrolling the sideline with a gruff scowl has football truly been back in Green Bay. While the Packers had Favre and Rodgers, the arrival of a massive NFL Draft event in this football city is thrilling for Green Bay and its residents.
Local reaction to the NFL Draft in Green Bay
"I think everybody's really excited." said Maddi Troullier marketing and sales manager at Stadium View Stadium Bar & Grill located at 1963 Holmgren Way. "You know this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing for a lot of people." " I think people are just looking forward to all the experiences that not just the NFL Draft has to offer within the campus, but also what all the local businesses are doing in the area."
The staff of Stadium Bar & Grill also feels a mix of excitement and nerves.
"It's been a little bit nerve-wracking." Troullier said. "This is all new for us; we've never prepared for something like this before." As far as the draft goes we really don't know what to expect." So all we can do is prepare and hope for the best, but overall I think that we are excited." We're excited to see all of our hard work, and see it come to life."
Troullier mentioned the restaurant has been preparing for the event for over a year and will host a draft party the night of the draft called Stadium View Ultimate Pick Party. The restaurant will also schedule 17 bands over the four days.
Along with the draft party, Stadium Bar will host several Packers alumni including Bruce Wilkerson, Cullen Jenkins, Johnny Jolly, Andre Rison, and Ryan Grant. This event is free to the public.
