Johnson appeared in two games for the Sun Devils last year, recording three tackles in ASU’s 45-19 win over Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship.
Fans will likely remember his play in ASU’s win over BYU when the cornerback snatched up a first-half onside kick in the second quarter.

The Sun Devils went on to score on the ensuing drive to go up 21-0 before halftime.
After serving more as a special teamer in his abbreviated showing last year, Johnson was expected to see more run as a rotational piece in the secondary this year alongside Javan Robinson, Keith Abney II, Rodney Bimage Jr., Nyland Green and Chris Johnson II.
True freshman Joseph Smith, who has impressed head coach Kenny Dillingham, could also be in the mix.
