A number of area football players will participate in the Colonial-Schuylkill League All-Star football game, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at Northern Lehigh High School.

The contest features senior standouts from the Colonial League taking on their Schuylkill League counterparts. A total of 23 players from the Times News coverage area are set to compete — 18 on the Colonial squad and five on the Schuylkill side.

Host Northern Lehigh and Northwestern Lehigh — last year’s PIAA Class 3A state champion — will each have five players competing.

Bulldogs Ayden Oswald, Isaac Raber, Eli Grady, Landon Moll and Cyrus Kinchen were selected for the Colonial team. Representing the Tigers will be Landen Matson, Seth Kern, Jared Meck, Jackson Bailey and Jackson Huber.

Lehighton will have four players in the contest: Deven Armbruster, Logan Kent, Brock Gower and Joe Roth.

Jim Thorpe and Palmerton each had two players selected. The Olympians will be represented by Aaron Curran and Justin Yescavage, while the Bombers’ representatives are Jameson Trainer and Aidan Ortiz.

The Colonial team will be coached by Salisbury’s Kevin DiZenzo.

On the Schuylkill League side, Marian’s Charlie Hower and Michael Johnson, Panther Valley’s Frank Shubeck and Zack Seifert, and Tamaqua’s Victor Schlosser will take the field.

Pottsville head coach Mike Brennan will guide the Schuylkill League squad.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
