Will Shedeur Sanders Be Drafted? NFL Teams With Best Chance In Round 2

🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.

The third round of the 2025 NFL draft continues on, and Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders has yet to be drafted. In fact, Jalen Milroe was taken by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 92 overall, and Dillon Gabriel went to the Cleveland Browns at No. 94 overall.

Instead of taking things the wrong way, Sanders posted a simple message as he fell further in the NFL Draft.

Sanders' simple message on his X page is, "Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING."

This is the first message that Sanders has released since the first day of the draft, when he posted:

"I'm built for whatever today may bring."

There was a wide belief that Sanders was going to be taken by a quarterback-needy team like the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks. That has yet to happen, and it is getting close to him not being selected in the third round at all.

Sanders was slated to be a first-round pick on many mock drafts for weeks and months. He was named to be the second quarterback taken after Cam Ward, but that has not been the case.

Sanders has been passed over for Ward, Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough, and the aforementioned Milroe and Gabriel. Five quarterbacks have been taken ahead of Sanders, and he could fall even farther down the draft.

Sanders is the son of perennial defender and NFL legend Deion Sanders. Shedeur joined his father at Colorado, and he put together some impressive stats over the past two seasons.

In total, Sanders threw 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. His 2024 season ended with 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. His yards and touchdowns in 2024 led the conference.

It is strange that Sanders has yet to be drafted, as many have been impressed by his accuracy and decision-making on the field. One of his glaring issues is his arm strength, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Quarterbacks with mid-level arm strength can still be quite successful. Sanders has been compared to Miami Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa doesn't have strong arms, but he is considered to be one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league.

It will be interesting to see if anyone actually gives Sanders a shot, as the teams who need a quarterback have already taken their developmental prospects.
