The Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears have enjoyed making deals with one another over the past few years. One specific pick, No. 109, was traded between the teams over one year.

Last season, Chicago sent the pick to Buffalo to select defensive lineman Austin Booker in the fifth-round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Ironically enough, the 5th round pick that Buffalo sent to Chicago in the deal was acquired in a trade with the Bears for offensive lineman Ryan Bates.

Buffalo kept the 2025 fourth-round pick all year, but traded it away on Friday night in a deal with, you guessed it, the Bears. Buffalo acquired picks 41 (T.J. Sanders), 72 (Landon Jackson), and 240 from Chicago in exchange for picks 56, 62 and 109.

It appeared that the Bears would make their original fourth-round pick after all, but at the start of day three, the team sent the selection back to Buffalo so that the Bills could select Kentucky defensive tackle Deone Walker.

Walker gives the Bills a true 1-tech option on their defensive line with DaQuan Jones on the downside of his career. Walker played at 345 pounds at Kentucky but slimmed down to 331 pounds at the combine. He is expected to play somewhere between that weight in Buffalo.

The Bills have used their first four selections on the defensive side of the ball. All four players were members of the SEC Conference and participated in the 2025 Senior Bowl. Three of the picks, Max Hairston, T.J. Sanders, and Walker, were pre-draft visitors while Jackson had a private workout with the Bills.
