Defensive Tackle Kyonte Hamilton was selected by the Houston Texans with the 224 overall pick. The last player selected from Rutgers was Running back Kyle Monangai, who was picked by the Chicago Bears with the 233 pick.

Longerbeam was the first off the board for the Scarlet Knights. The Virginia native played in 53 games and recorded 154 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 42 passes defended, five interceptions, and five forced fumbles. He was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention twice, and a recipient of the Frank R. Burns Award, which is given to a player who demonstrates extraordinary physical and mental toughness in spring practice.

Dane Brugular of the Athletic called Longerbeam a rookie backup with upside to be more.

The next one off the board for Rutgers was Hamilton. The Maryland native who played in 51 consecutive games for the Knights finished his college career with 110 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He was an all-Big Ten Honorable mention as a senior.

Hamilton was praised by NFL Network Analyst Brian Baldinger for his explosive first step as well as his good hand placement.

The last Knight to hear his name called on draft day was Monangai. The Roseland, New Jersey Native finished his college career with the second most rushing yards in Rutgers history with 3,221, the second most rush attempts with 669, and the seventh most touchdowns with 27. He ranks third in Rutgers' history for 100 yard rushing games with 14. In 2023, Monangai led the Big Ten with 1,262 rushing yards and was named to the All-Big Ten second team. In 2024, He ran for 1,279 yards, scored 13 touchdowns, and earned unanimous All-Big Ten first team honors.

He joins a Bears squad that was expected to select a running back early in the draft but waited until the seventh round to select Monangai as their first running back in the draft.
