Three Tennessee Baseball Vols get All-American honors
Pitcher Liam Doyle made first team, first baseman Andrew Fischer made first team and outfielder Hunter Ensley made second team.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Three Tennessee Volunteers got All-American Team acclaim from the American Baseball Coaches Association Friday.
Pitcher Liam Doyle made first team, first baseman Andrew Fischer made first team and outfielder Hunter Ensley made second team.
Doyle finished his junior campaign with a 10-4 record and 3.20 ERA in 19 appearances. He also leads the nation in strikeouts at 164.
Ensley, in his final year at UT, hit career highs in batting average (.336), OPS (.949), at-bats (241), runs (46), hits (81), doubles (17), RBIs (62), total bases (128), walks (30), on-base percentage (.418) and stolen bases (seven).
Fischer lead the Vols in OPS (1.257), runs (70), home runs (25), RBIs (65), total bases (165), slugging percentage (.760), on-base percentage (.497) and walks (63).
It marks the latest in a series of honors for UT baseball.
