Dwight Freeney will retire with Indianapolis Colts

Freeney sits 18th on the NFL's all-time sacks list, just behind Mathis.

Dwight Freeney, one of the NFL's premier pass rushers for a decade with the Indianapolis Colts, will re-sign with the team so he can retire as a Colt on Monday, the team announced.

The 11th overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft played his first 11 seasons with the Colts, compiling 107.5 sacks and 43 forced fumbles. He led the NFL with 16 sacks in 2004.

Freeney and Robert Mathis were one of the league's top pass rushing duos.

Freeney made seven Pro Bowls and was first team All-Pro three times.

He also played for San Diego, Arizona, Atlanta, Detroit and Seattle from 2013-17.
