Track and field
Washington’s Andrew Gardner finished fifth in the steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Gardner’s finish was the best by a Husky male in the event since Dan Bell placed third in 1987. Gardner posted a personal-best time of 8:38.79, third-best in school history. Fellow UW senior Colby Gilbert was 22nd in the 5,000 in 14:27.22.

After an eight-year residency at Spokane’s Joe Albi Stadium, the Washington State Crimson and Gray game will return to Martin Stadium in 2019.
