Fantasy Football: Forecasting Week 11 of the NFL season

Art Stapleton
NFL writer

We'll use this Fantasy Forecast to try to give you an edge every week by offering players we'd choose with the game on the line (Sign Me Up), those we'd let others fall for (Stay Away) and a surprise to produce enough to make you look good (Sleeper).

Without further ado, here they are:

Quarterback

Sign Me Up: Jared Goff, Rams (vs. Chiefs): Rams want to get going offensively and they'll have to keep up with Mahomes and Co.

Stay Away: Matthew Stafford, Lions (vs. Panthers): He's thrown for just six touchdowns with five turnovers over the last four games.

Sleeper: Lamar Jackson, Ravens (at Bengals): Monitor this one. If Joe Flacco (hip) sits, Jackson could be a lottery ticket the way Deshaun Watson was when he arrived in 2017.

Running back

Sign Me Up: Tevin Coleman, Falcons (vs. Cowboys): Atlanta was horrible against Cleveland, but I'd expect a bounce back here.

Stay Away: Adrian Peterson, Redskins (vs. Texans): The future Hall of Famer has hit the skids a bit since his big game against the Giants, and it won't be easy against Houston.

Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson (26) rushes against the New York Giants in Week 8 on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, in East Rutherford.

Sleeper: Phillip Lindsay, Broncos (at Chargers): The rookie is coming off a bye week, and Doug Martin had some success against the Bolts last week.

Wide receiver

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (17) cannot complete a catch in the Eagles endzone in the first half. The New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, in East Rutherford.

Sign Me Up: Alshon Jeffery, Eagles (at Saints): The Eagles are going to have to score, and the Saints give up the second-most PPR points (50.3 points per game) to opposing wide receivers at home.

Stay Away: Devin Funchess, Panthers (at Lions): Funchess has been quiet the last two weeks, and if Darius Slay is back, expect that to continue.

Sleeper: Sterling Shepard, Giants (vs. Bucs): Tampa Bay has allowed the most yards and most touchdowns to slot receivers. Watch for Shepard to be far more active this week.

Tight end

Sign Me Up: O.J. Howard, Bucs (at Giants): George Kittle lit the Giants up and Howard could do the same.

Stay Away: C.J. Uzomah, Bengals (at Ravens): He's struggled the last two weeks and failed to capitalize on increased opportunities, failing to score since Week 4.

Sleeper: Trey Burton, Bears (vs. Vikings): Minnesota is actually more vulnerable against tight ends, especially on the road, than you'd believe.

Week 9:Fantasy Football forecast

Defense/Special teams

Sign Me Up: Cardinals (vs. Raiders): Arizona has been steadily improving and Derek Carr has been very shaky as of late. I'd start the Cardinals with confidence.

Stay Away: Eagles (vs. Saints): Philadelphia has given up some big plays recently, leading to the struggles. Would take a lot to start an opposing defense in the dome vs. Drew Brees.

Sleeper: Steelers (vs. Jaguars): Pittsburgh rolled Carolina and Jacksonville is up next. The Steelers have improved dramatically defensively in their recent stretch.

Kicker

Sign Me Up: Ryan Succop, Titans (at Colts): He put up double digits in the upset of the Patriots and kickers have produced against Indianapolis this season.

Stay Away: Dan Bailey, Vikings (at Bears): The former Cowboy has had his share of misses and they don't call Chicago the Windy City for nothing.

Sleeper: Aldrick Rosas, Giants (vs. Bucs): He's bounced back this season, rewarding the Giants for the faith they've showed him in after a subpar 2017.
