Facing former champion O’Shaquie Foster, Conceição fulfilled his long-held ambition in a fiercely contested bout.Foster, boasting a record of 22-3 with 12 knockouts, was defending his WBC super-featherweight title for the third time. The judges’ decision was split, with Anthony Lundy and Paul Wallace scoring the fight 116-112 and 115-113 in favor of Conceição (18-2-1, 9 KOs), while Ron McNair favored Foster 116-112.
